What is the Franklin County Youth Ag Leadership Program?
Participants will gain knowledge about identifying issues in agriculture, public speaking, visiting working ag/farm sites, leadership lessons in decision making, team building. Youth will gain knowledge about Field Crops, Horticulture, Livestock, Food Science and Ag Business.
Who can participate? Youth in or approaching 10th-12th Grade (Only 10 youth will be selected to attend the program.)
Location: Franklin County Cooperative Extension Office and various tour locations.
Date and Times: August 4th-August 8th • 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Cost: FREE
What is the benefit? To inspire and encourage youth to consider a career in agriculture and expand their knowledge regarding different agricultural fields. Meet Farmers, College Professors, Extension Specialists and College Administrators throughout the week.
What is included in the registration? Transportation to tour locations, lunch and snacks daily, insurance, all needed program materials.
When are applications due? Friday, May 16th, 2025 to the Franklin County Cooperative Extension Office -103 S. Bickett Blvd, Louisburg, NC 27549
What is the dress code for the week? Casual dress daily for class and field tours. (Closed Toe Shoes Required)
What are the requirements for the program? Applications turned in by May 16th, register in 4-H Online, provide one recommendation letter from Ag Advisor, Teacher or Club Leader and attend all five days of the program.
