Collapse ▲Join Franklin County 4-H for a 6-week special interest 4-H club about alpacas and all things wildlife and their habitats.
The club will meet from 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at Hardly Farm. Youth will get to visit the alpacas and lama each meeting in addition to learning about wildlife and forestry. There will be snacks, hands on activities, and a craft or science experiment each time.

CLUB MEETING DATES:
- FEB 12-Turtle Tales: Learn about different species of turtles, design and build a turtle shell. Hear from a herpetologist.
- FEB. 19-Animal Appetites: Investigate food preferences for animals and their adaptations for eating. Design a food web for plants and wildlife in Franklin County. Sample foods that people and animals both enjoy.
- MARCH 5-Bird Furniture: Learn the nesting and feeding requirements of local birds. Construct a birdhouse from recycled household items.
- MARCH 12- Fishing Bait: Learn which baits and lures attracts fish. Create and make different types of baits and lures for fish in our area.
- MARCH 19- Nature’s Footprints: ID animal tracking and we will make plaster casts. Franklin County Wildlife officer will visit and share their tracking knowledge.
- MARCH 26- Forestry and Packaging: Learn pros and cons to a variety of packaging. Youth will design their own eco-friendly packages.
