Collapse ▲Lance Williams has been a Franklin County 4-H’er for 12 years. He began attending 4-H Sizzling Summer Sessions when he was only 6 years old and then attended Franklin County 4-H County Council when he started 6th grade. Lance has always shown leadership skills and dedication in all aspects of his life including 4-H. He has held multiple leadership positions on a county, district and now a state level. Lance currently serves as the Vice-President on the NC 4-H State Council.
Lance Williams of Franklin County, won a prestigious Park Scholarship from NC State.
Lance is a Senior at Bunn High School and applied for the North Carolina State University Park Scholarship, one of the most prestigious merit scholarship programs in the nation. The selection process is very competitive and intense. This scholarship provides a four-year scholarship to North Carolina State University. The pool of candidates started at 3,400 seniors, then narrowed down to 112, and then Lance had a face-to-face interview with a panel and was selected as 1 of 40 Park Scholarship recipients. He will be attending NCSU beginning Fall semester 2023. Lance plans to study Agriculture Business Management with a focus on returning to Franklin County and working with Cooperative Extension and rural development.
It has been such a joy to watch this young man grow as a young man and a leader. Franklin County 4-H and Franklin County Cooperative Extension wish the very best to Lance in all his future endeavors. This honor is most deserving. Congratulations Lance Williams!
