Regional Poultry Regulations & Hands-on Processing

A Regional Poultry Processing Meeting/ Demonstration will take place on Friday, November 1st, beginning at 8:30 am, at the Franklin County Ag Center annex and covered shelter, 103 S. Bickett Blvd., in Louisburg. The morning program will be followed by  a catered chicken lunch.

Updates on the Avian Influenza in NC, and how it affects the backyard producer: Jonas Asbill, Regional Extension Poultry Agent

What You Need to Know from your Poultry (including egg marketing) & Meat Inspector: Poultry Processing Rules and RegulationsMarvin Lackman, NCDA & CS, MPID, Compliance Officer North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Meat and Poultry Inspection Division

Hands-on Poultry Processing 101: What you need to Know, Christina Sigmon, NCSU, Prestage Poultry Science

• Hands-on Processing Demonstration - outside: Mark Paylor and Anthony Hooks, NCA&T University
