FAMACHA Certification Training
Small ruminant producers, join N.C. A&T at their University Farm for a free FAMACHA certification training led by animal production specialist Dr. Sanjok Poudel. FAMACHA is a scoring system used to determine treatment for barber pole worm infections in goats and sheep. Barber pole worm is a gastrointestinal parasite that severely impacts animals, has a strong resilience, and can be a proliferant problem in pastures. Attend this training to learn how to keep your herd healthy through hands-on practice and certification in FAMACHA scoring. Registration is free and lunch is included.

Small Farms Week

CFSA Organic Commodities and Livestock Conference
The Organic Commodities & Livestock Conference (OCLC) is a free, one-day conference hosted each March by the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association and NC State, designed for growers of specialty crops, commodities, and pasture-based livestock, and for other growers, educators, extension agents, and agronomists from the Carolinas and beyond to learn, network, and explore opportunities in organic agriculture.
Attendees can look forward to engaging workshops, panel discussions, a curated vendor hall, networking opportunities, and a local farm tour. Featured workshop topics include specialty crop production, farm employment regulations, soil health research, farm funding support programs, and more! Free registration includes the full day of conference sessions, plus breakfast and a keynote lunch.
