North Carolina Flue-Cured Tobacco Farmers

A check-off referendum will take place Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in each flue-cured producing county in North Carolina. Flue-cured tobacco growers will vote on continuing their support of export promotion and expansion for US flue-cured tobacco by Tobacco Associates, Inc. for the marketing years 2022, 2023, 2024. The referendum will be conducted by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension. Polling places will be open during normal business hours at each flue-cured producing County Extension office. Other polling locations may be announced by the County Extension office. The referendum will include the question of continuance of the authorization of annual assessments not to exceed one-fifth (1/5) of one cent per pound. The exact assessment is to be approved by the North Carolina Tobacco Associates Board members.
