2025 Franklin County 4-H Sizzling Summer Sessions

Join us for Sizzling Summer Sessions 2025 where we offer face-to-face opportunities for youth ages 5-18 to actively create lasting summer memories through engaging fun and hands-on activities. Camp times may vary.


Registration Opens Friday, April 18th at 10 AM.

Additional information:


  • The location of the camps will be at N.C. Cooperative Extension-Franklin County Center. If the camp takes place at another location, transportation is provided but will still meet at the Franklin County Extension Center, 103 S. Bickett Blvd., in Louisburg or will be indicated in camp descriptions.
  • Youth must be enrolled in 4-H Online to sign up.You MUST register as a 4-H Member not participant in order for your registration to be considered complete.
  • Each camper is encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle.
  • Each program will provide water and snacks.
  • Youth will be required to adhere the NC 4-H code of conduct.
  • Youth must be at least 5 years old as of Jan 1, 2024 to participate in 4-H. There are no refunds unless the program has to be cancelled.

CAMPS


3 Day State Parks Experience

Dates: June 16th, 18th and 20th

Time: 8 am-5 pm

Ages: 9 and up

Cost: $40

Youth will meet at the Franklin County Extension office the above 3 days. Each day please bring a bag lunch, change of clothes, towel, water bottle and sunscreen. Snacks and water will be provided. Please be sure to wear closed toe shoes. Each day we will hike so make sure your youth is prepared for physical activity. We will dipnet for water bugs at Eno State Park, play games at Umstead State Park, and Hike down to Raven Rock State Park, and so much more!

Cloverbud Science Camp

Date: June 25th

Time: 2pm-5pm

Ages: 5 to 7

Cost: $20

Youth will participate in an afternoon of excitement with science. Some experiments include but are not limited to: make our own paper, airplane launcher with Snap Circuits, and paper helicopters.

Science and Electric Discovery Camp

June 26th-27th

Time: 2pm-5pm

Ages: 9 & up

Cost: $35

Youth will have a two day camp filled with bubbles, lights, sound and more. Some projects the youth will be doing are: Work with snap circuits to make alarms, bells, and lights work, make our own paper, airplane launcher with Snap Circuits, and paper helicopters.

Alpacas and Wildlife Camp

Dates: July 1st-3rd

Time: 9am-2pm

Ages: 9 and up

Cost: $30

Youth will get to visit the alpacas and llama daily in addition to learning about wildlife and forestry. Some lessons include: Talking Turkey, Turtle Tales, Leaping Lizards, nature's footprints, living with wildlife and so much more. This group of youth will also get the experience of creating a StoryWalk for Hardly Farm that will include their story and drawings being published and displayed. There will be snacks, hands on activities, and a craft or science experiment each day. Please wear closed toe shoes. Water will be provided but feel free to bring a water. Please bring a bag lunch.

Cloverbud No Sew Craft Day

Date: July 8th

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 5 to 7

Cost: $20

Come out to have some fun with fabric and you won't have to worry about poking yourself with any pins. This no sew craft day will consist of of a Tic-Tac-Toe Game Board Bag, no-sew heart pillow and more.

No Sew Craft Day

Date: July 9th

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 8 and up

Cost: $25

Blooming Daisy Homestead Exploration

Date: July 10th

Time: 9am-3pm

Ages: 9 and up

Cost: $30

Come join us at Blooming Daisy Homestead for a fun filled day of hands-on nature based learning adventures that include crafts, cooking, and animal encounters. Please bring a bag lunch, wear closed toe shoes, sunscreen and water bottle.

Cooking Cloverbuds Class

Date: July 15th

Time: 9am-2pm

Ages: 5 to 7

Cost: $25

Enjoy a morning of learning the basics of cooking and preparing a balanced meal. Youth will prep, cook, and then enjoy a lunch they have made all on their own. Youth will also learn about nutrition and the importance of physical activity.

Fitness Fun with 4-H and Louisburg Nutrition

Dates: July 16th-17th

Time: 9am-12pm

Ages: 8 and up

Cost: $30

Youth will enjoy a morning learning about nutrition and physical fitness by doing hands on learning with drum yoga, chair yoga, kid Zumba and a trip both days to Louisburg Nutrition to make their own tasty refresher. This camp is designed to help youth make healthy choices and have fun being active.

Flavors of Summer

Dates: July 22nd-24th

Time: 9am-1pm

Ages: 8 and up

Get ready for a few days full of flavor, fun, and creativity at our Youth Cooking Camp! This exciting, hands-on camp is perfect for kids who want to explore the world of cooking and learn new skills in the kitchen. Whether your child is a beginner or already loves to cook, they'll discover new techniques, recipes, and the joy of preparing meals from scratch. Throughout the camp, campers will learn how to make everything from delicious snacks to full meals, all while gaining confidence and improving their culinary skills. With a focus on teamwork, safety, and creativity, each day is filled with fun cooking challenges, food experiments, and exciting new recipes to try. By the end of the camp, your young chef will have the skills to create delicious dishes and share them with friends and family.

Franklin County 4-H FUN Livestock Show

Date: August 8th

Time: Registration begins at 8:30am

Location: Wildwynn Stables 347 E Main St, Youngsville, NC 27596

Ages: 5-18

Cost: FREE

Information will be going out at a later date via the email 4-H listserve, so if you are not on the listserve, please let our office know so we can add you. This event is for youth that already have animals at home or have a friend willing to let you borrow an animal to show. We allow: cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits and chickens.
