Horse owners in the area are invited to participate in the 2026 Winter Horse Educational Series at the Franklin County Extension Center Annex, 103 S. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg. Meetings will begin with a sponsored meal at 5:30 p.m., followed by the educational programs. Cost $20 per session includes dinner. Meetings will be conducted on the following dates.

Thursday, March 19th – Dr. Megan Tyrrell, veterinarian- Neuse River Equine Hospital, Rolesville on the topic “EPM- understanding, preventative, symptoms, vaccine, botulism (hay), seizures, etc.” Register by March 18 at the following link. go.ncsu.edu/2026-horse-series-meeting3.

Annual  EIA/Coggins Clinic

On Saturday, February 14th The annual EIA/Coggins Clinic will be conducted at the Franklin County Farmers Market Shelter, in Louisburg from 1 – 3 p.m., by the NC Mobile Veterinary Service team (services include dental exam/teeth floating by reservation only.) Call the Franklin County Cooperative Extension office, 919-496-3344 to reserve your services and time slot.
