Discover local food and fiber farms right here in diversified Franklin County! Eight county-wide farms will be open to the public on Sunday, May 14th (rain or shine) for you, your family, and friends to visit. But before you head out to carpool to the various sites (free entrance to the farms), please upload the color brochure on-line, print it off, and fill up the gas tank! Read the “Do’s” and “Don’ts” also listed on the brochure.
Read the tips and tricks on what to bring, what to wear, and type of farm you wish to visit. That is, do you want to pet the newborn goats, see mushrooms sprouting from the logs, buy a beautiful flower and herb bouquet, purchase heirloom plants, buy and enjoy fresh picked organic strawberries, sugar snap peas, and asparagus along with natural meats? You decide.
You will not be able to visit all eight farms, so plan your tour around the 3 – 4 farms that excite you the most, and add additional stops nearby. A simple lunch will be served at several of the farms.. read the brochure for details. Remember to bring a cooler.. when you purchase the farm’s wonderful fresh products … right HERE in FRANKLIN COUNTY!
