“This document can be used by anyone in agriculture as a notice that they are part of the essential workforce in one of the US Department of Homeland Security’s 16 critical industries for national security. It can be a notification to law enforcement or others if needed. N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has also sent a letter to various law enforcement associations in NC notifying them of this document and its distribution.

People in agriculture are encouraged to distribute to their contacts and anyone involved in agriculture and the food systems. We would encourage everyone to keep a copy with them as they travel.

As more restrictions are adopted across NC, we need to ensure the worker and workers in agriculture and food are not impeded.”
