Franklin County 4-H’ers have been busy the past few months as they prepared their crafts, produce, canning items, poultry, and livestock for the 2018 NC State Fair. We had an overwhelming 43 4-H’ers participate in the State Fair this year.

There were 10 youth who entered items in arts/hobbies/crafts and 33 kids that showed livestock. Some categories that youth showed or entered items included but are not limited to: livestock (cows, goats, and sheep), poultry, crafts in the 4-H division and other divisions, culinary, produce, canned items, and quilting.

It was amazing to hear from youth and parents the excitement of receiving a ribbon, regardless of the placing. Franklin County 4-H’ers brought home a total of 269 winning ribbons. Youth have worked hard and put in a lot of time and dedication to get to the fair and they see their efforts pay off!

Some youth showed their personal livestock and some 4-H’ers showed 4-H volunteer club leaders’ livestock. The pictures show just a glimpse of youth participants and some of the awards they brought home. We are proud of all the Franklin County 4-H’ers accomplishments.

Way to go!
