Small farms continue growing in Franklin County and surrounding counties! In 2015, a Franklin County Small Farm Association was formed to meet the demand for educational information to help members be successful and to network with one another. The popular Annual Small Farms Opportunities Conference will be held at Vance-Granville Community College, Franklin Campus in Louisburg on Saturday, February 27th from 8:00 am – 3:30 p.m..  Topics include: Organic Farming & Benefits; Retail Marketing; Managing your farm w/ Google Earth; Building Soil Health for farm profit; Farmers Markets 101; Beneficial insects; How to price your products; Utilizing farm stays and weddings; Hands-on mushroom production/marketing; Alternative feeds for livestock; Small Scale Poultry Production & Marketing,  and Sheep & Goat Production & Marketing. There will be a small fee to participate.
