Ponds Management Field Day: Wednesday, November 5th

— Written By and last updated by Margaret Green

Ponds can add value to property and Franklin County has many ponds, both large and small, throughout the county.  To meet the need for pond management, basic principles of managing recreational ponds and the requirements for producing and maintaining high-quality fishing in a pond will be discussed on Wednesday, November 5th at the Franklin County Extension Center and area farms. Some common mistakes in pond management and ways of solving pond problems will be addressed by NCSU Pond Specialist, Dr. Jim Rice, and NCSU Aquatic Weed Specialist, Dr. Rob Richardson.

Instruction will be partially classroom as well as area pond visits. The program will begin at 9:00 am with registration; registration fees will be $20 per person which will include refreshments, lunch and handout materials.  For more information, contact the Extension Office at (919) 496-3344 or martha_mobley@ncsu.edu.
